From “Mental Strength Therapy” to Advocacy

For the past month, Joshua has shared glimpses of his training on Snapchat, often using the hashtag #MentalStrengthTherapy. But his return to the gym isn’t just about boxing; it’s about a new sense of responsibility.

The “Stationary Trap” Problem: The crash on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway involved a stationary truck—a common and deadly hazard on Nigerian highways.

The Advocacy Push: Sources close to AJ suggest he is in talks to partner with road safety organizations to fund better roadway lighting and reflective hazard kits for long-distance truck drivers in Nigeria.

The Goal: To ensure that “stationary” no longer means “death trap” for families and travelers on the country’s most vital arteries.

2. The Sina & Latz Memorial Fund

Joshua hasn’t just honored his friends with ink; he’s doing it with impact.

Supporting the Families: True to his promise on January 30, Joshua has officially set up a foundation to support the children and parents of Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele.

The “Hustler” Scholarship: Since both men were described by AJ as “generals and hustlers,” the fund will provide vocational and sports scholarships for youth in Watford and Lagos, mirroring the path his friends took to reach the elite level of sports.

3. Will He Fight Again? The “Three-Man” Return

The boxing world is buzzing with questions about AJ’s future. While his promoter Eddie Hearn says there are “no guarantees,” the signs in the gym point toward a comeback unlike any other.

The Weight of Three: AJ has hinted that his next ring walk will be a “Three-Man Show.” He intends to carry the spirit of Sina and Latz with him, possibly wearing custom trunks featuring their names.

The Fury Showdown: Negotiations for the Tyson Fury fight have reportedly softened, with Fury himself sending a private message of support to AJ, noting that “some things are bigger than the ring.”
