It’s not every day world leaders are seen pacing city sidewalks—but French President Emmanuel Macron did just that in New York. Police closed off streets ahead of U.S. President Donald Trump’s motorcade, blocking Macron’s route. Instead of waiting idly, the French leader stepped out of his vehicle, made a quick phone call to Trump, and began walking with his security detail. An officer had explained: “Everything is frozen right now… a motorcade is coming.” Macron, visibly amused, replied, “Guess what? I’m waiting in the street because everything is frozen for you.” The standstill turned into a 30-minute walk as streets reopened, allowing him to proceed on foot. Along the way, Macron greeted passersby and posed for photos. Tuko.co.ke – Kenya news.+1

Interestingly, this moment came shortly after Macron’s UN speech in which he officially recognized Palestine as a state, a major foreign policy move. Tuko.co.ke – Kenya news.+1
